Nobody sees the first version. Thankfully. Most things worth making involve trying something and then trying it again. You move something. Move it back. Make it bigger. Decide it was better smaller. Eventually something starts to feel right. Practice is interested in that part of making. Its large family gives you room to move between quiet typography and something much louder without having to change the voice completely. It isn't a typeface that asks to be admired from a distance. It was made to be used and pushed around. Try it on a title. Put it through a whole book. Change your mind. That's what practice is for.
