Sometimes you have to look somewhere else to see something new. Afrika began with African art and its influence on early 20th century modernism. Artists like Picasso and Matisse encountered forms that challenged the European traditions they knew and changed the way they made work. That collision became a starting point for Afrika. Its letters have brush-like strokes and sculptural shapes that feel drawn as much as designed. There is warmth in them but also something unexpected.
