Font Licenses
Font software is licensed, not sold, under the End User License Agreement. You choose the typefaces you need, then configure the Licensed Unit at checkout.
Start licensingHow licensing works
- Step 1
Typeface selection
Choose the typefaces and weights you need. You can license individual styles or a full family.
- Step 2
Licence configuration
Select one usage option per category (desktop, web, app, and so on). Only pay for the rights you need.
- Step 3
Billing information
Enter your contact and company details for the license record and receipt.
- Step 4
Payment and font delivery
Complete checkout to receive your font files and license documentation by email.
Usage categories
In step 2 of checkout, pick one option per category. “None” means you are not licensing that use.
Desktop License
Install the fonts on computers to make design files, PDFs, presentations, and print. It does not cover websites, apps, or logos unless you add those licenses. It does not grant a right to modify, convert, or create derivative font data.
Web License
Embed the fonts on websites and web apps with @font-face or CSS. It does not cover desktop files, apps, or logos unless you add those licenses.
App License
Embed the fonts in mobile apps, desktop software, or other installable applications. It does not cover websites or logos unless you add those licenses.
Logo License
Use the typeface in a wordmark or as part of a visual identity. Desktop, web, and app uses still need their own licenses.
Broadcast License
Use the fonts in video, TV, streaming, ads, and motion graphics. Reach is set by the tier you pick.
E-book License
Embed the fonts in e-books, digital magazines, and other digital publications.
Merchandise License
Print or apply the fonts on physical products and merchandise. Quantity is set by the tier you pick.
Custom Usage
A separate written commission to change the font files. Retail desktop, web, and logo licenses do not include this.
License duration
Licenses are issued with no fixed end date by default. Time-limited terms for campaigns or broadcast windows are available on request. Email mail@trulytype.com for a custom quote.
Perpetual
Use forever within the licensed scope. Standard for ongoing brand and product work.
